Shrestha, Claire and I went to a health camp today co-sponsored by Karuna Trust and Weinerberger, a health supplies company that just opened up a factory in rural.  Doctors and nurses came from Bangalore to offer free health examinations to the local community and provided free meds for the health issues.  There were stations for eye, arthritis, diabetes, cardio, and gynecologic exams, as well as a van dedicated to dental work.  Karuna anticipated that they would reach over 600 people in the community.  It was a real treat to see Karuna’s great work in action first hand.  We’re leaving tomorrow morning for each of our respective bases– Shresta, Bhargavi and I to BR Hills, Claire to Mysore–and we’re all thrilled to see other branches of the organization and how we’ll be contributing.
